Auftakt 2

Michael Francis conducts the second installment of the Auftakt series on Sunday, 6 September 2026 at 19:30 at Pfalzbau Ludwigshafen. The programme features Carl Nielsen's symphonic poem Saga Drøm, Edward Elgar's The Wand of Youth Suite No. 2, and Maurice Ravel's Ma mère l'oye in its 1911 ballet version. Pfalzbau is the city's principal cultural venue, opened in 1968 on the Rhine's banks, housing a large theatre hall and concert space. This is one of three German dates for Francis this season. Tickets cost 35 euros.
