Auftakt 4

The fourth concert in the Auftakt series takes place on Friday, 11 September 2026 at 19:30 at Pfalzbau Ludwigshafen. Conductor Michael Francis leads a six-concert tour across Germany, with this evening devoted to early modernist works: Charles Ives's The Unanswered Question, Igor Stravinsky's Petrushka, Alexander Scriabin's Le Poème de l'extase, and Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 1, performed by pianist Joseph Moog. Pfalzbau, the city's principal cultural venue opened in 1968 on the Rhine's banks, features a modern concert hall. Admission is 18 euros.
