DICKE FISCHE - 25th Anniversary Concert

On 17 October 2000, DICKE FISCHE played their debut at Arigato, a scene bar near Marienplatz in Stuttgart - two acoustic guitars, a cajon, and two voices. That unlikely lineup produced a sound that went well beyond what anyone expected from an acoustic duo. Based in the quiet town of Holzgerlingen near Böblingen, the band soon built a regular gigging circuit in the region, including legendary sold-out evenings at the Atrium in Altdorf.

What set them apart: they played carefully chosen songs entirely on their own terms - VERDICKFISCHT, as they call it - and threw themselves into every show with a commitment the audience always gave back. The buzz translated into up to 200 gigs a year, several CDs of original material, their own books, and a fanclub that followed them from show to show. A particular highlight was the tenth anniversary at Wilhelma Theater Stuttgart, featuring prominent guest musicians from the international scene.

Over 25 years the lineup has shifted - today DICKE FISCHE perform as a trio or quartet depending on the occasion, the musicians more seasoned and versatile than ever. The core stays the same: top-notch sound in a small formation, rock, pop and reggae mixing originals with their signature cover versions, and shows where the energy between stage and crowd flows freely in both directions.
