Two outstanding voices of young European jazz - Mongolian pianist and composer Shuteen Erdenebaatar and German bassist and clarinettist Nils Kugelmann - present their new programme UNDER THE SAME STARS, a musical journey unlike any other.

What began as a personal encounter has grown into a deep dialogue between two musical souls. Shuteen's hypnotic, luminous piano playing meets the mysterious tonal colours of Kugelmann's contra-alto clarinet - a rare instrument that takes centre stage here. Together they build a sound world that draws on jazz, classical music and film scores, weaving their individual stories, cultures and passion for music into something entirely their own.

Both have established themselves in recent years as defining figures of a new generation. Shuteen Erdenebaatar, born in Mongolia, has lived in Germany since 2018. She has received, among other honours, the German Jazz Prize and the highest cultural award of her home country. Nils Kugelmann, an ACT artist and multiple award winner, is known for his work with his own trio and his distinctive voice as a composer.
