A symphonic journey through the world of Hans Zimmer - featuring music from James Bond, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar, Top Gun, Dune and more!
Berlin / Los Angeles - "The Music of Hans Zimmer & Others" is a concert and audiovisual experience for all ages: film fans, music lovers and families alike. The Hollywood Film Orchestra performs these scores in a spectacular show with light installations, laser projections and selected film clips. Star soloists from the original Broadway production will perform highlights from The Lion King, Zimmer's most beloved blockbuster.
No other composer has shaped cinema over the past two decades quite like Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy winner Hans Zimmer, whose scores include James Bond, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Inception and Interstellar.
The celebrated German composer has written music for more than 200 films. He won his second Oscar for Dune (2022), having received his first Academy Award for The Lion King (1994).
Zimmer cited Ennio Morricone as his idol and inspiration - the show will also feature excerpts from Morricone's repertoire, including The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West. Zimmer adopted Morricone's practice of composing before filming rather than after, which shaped entire productions. One famous example: after hearing Zimmer's music, Ridley Scott changed the opening of Gladiator and moved into Zimmer's studio to work.
