Orsino Goes Mad - A Musical Comedy in the Countryside - Freely Adapted from William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night"
Everything seems well ordered now: Vivi has won Orsino, Linda has moved to the city with Sebastian, and Tobi is kept by Maria. Yet just last summer the whole village was in turmoil. Orsino, an Italian innkeeper and for twenty years secretly in love with Linda from the riding stable across the way, completely lost his mind. Once Linda finally became available, he threw parties for every occasion, founded local history societies and men's groups, and loudly dreamed of a love that Linda absolutely refused to return.
In the emotional chaos that gripped the village a year ago, Tobi nearly lost his friend and patron Andrew. This Hamburg regular has been searching for the right woman for years, but apparently always in the wrong place. Tobias made sure things - well, mostly - somehow worked out, especially in his throat. In the end it was Vivi who threw everything into confusion: half the village fell into a love frenzy. Yet neither partners nor timing matched. Hasko, the clipboard-carrying guardian of order, desperately tried to stack feelings like chairs. But without success.
This playful adaptation of Shakespeare's comedy relocates the action to a rural inn: half banquet hall, half barn, half storage room. It's about love and order - and the wonderful chaos in between. After a successful touring season, ORSINO GOES MAD now settles permanently in HALLE 19.
