Concierto Encuentro - Chamber Music by Facundo Barreyra for String Quartet and Bandoneon

The "Concierto Encuentro" project comprises two chamber concerts in Bavaria, placing at its centre an artistic encounter between Argentine musical tradition and European chamber music. The programme features works by Argentine composer and arranger Facundo Barreyra, who created both the original compositions and arrangements specially developed for this ensemble.

The programme opens an extraordinary sonic world: elements of Argentine tango and folklore blend with contemporary compositional techniques. Characteristic rhythms, traditional musical gestures, and differentiated timbres are transformed into a modern chamber music form, creating a distinctive and innovative musical language.

A defining feature of the project is its unusual instrumentation: string quartet, bandoneon, and bombo legüero. This combination enables a unique sonic bridge between the European chamber music tradition and the rhythmic and timbral expressions of Argentina, expanding the classical repertoire with fresh perspectives.
