AKIO & Band - "My Nat King Cole Story"

AKIO, a Hanover-based artist of Vietnamese descent, is one of the few jazz crooners in Germany paying tribute to his idol Nat King Cole through a dedicated show. Above all, he brings that velvety vocal tone that ballads of this kind demand. When it comes to swinging, he is equally at home in a groovy, rhythmic sound.

Shaped by his parents' musical influence, AKIO encountered music from an early age and took piano and guitar lessons as a child. His musical inspirations include Donny Hathaway, Ray Charles, and Nat King Cole. What began as an early passion for music grew, over the years, into a deep love of singing.

"My Nat King Cole Story" is the realisation of a dream. With the goal of performing on major stages, AKIO joined forces with experienced jazz musicians to put together a stylish and varied programme. Alongside world-famous jazz classics, lesser-known titles from Nat King Cole's repertoire are presented in a fresh new guise.
