AKIO & Band - "My Nat King Cole Story"

AKIO, a Hanover-based artist of Vietnamese descent, is one of the few jazz crooners in Germany to dedicate an entire stage programme to Nat King Cole. His velvety voice carries the great ballads effortlessly, and he is equally at home swinging with a groovy, laid-back feel.

Shaped by his parents' musical tastes from an early age, AKIO started piano and guitar lessons as a child. His musical heroes include Donny Hathaway, Ray Charles, and Nat King Cole.

"My Nat King Cole Story" is the fruit of that passion: together with seasoned jazz musicians, AKIO has built a programme that places well-known classics alongside rarer gems from Nat King Cole's catalogue - all freshly arranged and reinterpreted. A blend of jazz, blues, and swing.
