Monji El Beji - "ZU BLEED UM ZU ERWE!" - Mundart Comedy
The debut solo show of the Palatinate's cult musician!
Monji El Beji knows the feeling all too well: after years with cult bands Fine R.I.P. and Woifeschdkänisch, he's famous - but still permanently broke. No way around it: Monji needs cash, which means a job - even if that job is hosting the Pfälzer Weinkönigin gala! But no matter how many times his bandmate Christoph Erbach calls him to order during rehearsals, the heavy burden of being a Palatinate family man keeps catching up with him - and he fires back with new anthems about the sense and nonsense of life.
What good is a rich aunt if she simply refuses to die? And sure, his kids love him - but only as long as he plays chauffeur for them late at night? With sharp wit and honest dialect, Monji settles scores with fate, the bank, and his wife. He'd walk through hell for her - but to the theatre? With the in-laws? Enough is enough! Well, maybe one more Schorle. But that's already empty again, which is heartbreaking. Shh, though - isn't the Palatinate paradise? Deep in his Palatinate soul, Monji naturally finds the elixir for a happy life. And it's not always Riesling...! Even the Weinkönigin is amazed!
An evening of laughs, songs, and life lessons - gloriously Palatinate, cheeky, and side-splittingly funny! "Zu blöd, um zu erben" - the first solo show by Monji El Beji. For anyone who loves the Palatinate, enjoys a good laugh - and knows that humour is the one thing you can always pass on.
With Monji El Beji as Monji El Beji; Frank Schäffer on piano and Christoph Erbach as the voice off-stage
