Asadi&Bozó - World Music

Hesam Asadi and Mathias Bozó first met in the world music trio Edelholz and have since been deepening their musical cultural exchange as a duo - with heart and artistry. The German-Iranian pair weaves Eastern and Western music together with touches of classical and chanson, brought to life with virtuosity and genuine emotion.

Asadi (knee violin, percussion, vocals) studied music in Tehran and was imprisoned there after releasing a music video critical of the regime. Following a long journey into exile, he eventually settled in Germany, where he found in Bozó (piano, percussion, vocals) a kindred musical partner.

Their shared music is a procession of soulful instrumental and vocal pieces - a mutual cultural integration on equal terms: virtuosic, harmonious and deeply moving. In their newly revised programme, the dialogue between tradition and modernity, and between acoustic and electronic sounds, comes through more strongly than ever.
