JAZZFORUM AIDLINGEN PRESENTS: JFA Bigband

The Big Band of Jazz Forum Aidlingen (JFA) is one of the oldest large jazz ensembles in the Böblingen district. With over two decades of musical history, the band was founded by the late Munich jazz legend Joe Viera. For several years now it has been led by saxophonist Alexander Bühl, recipient of the Baden-Württemberg Jazz Prize 2018.

The band stays true to its roots: the repertoire draws on the great jazz orchestras of the swing era, with a particular focus on the sound of the Count Basie Band - the formation that shaped the modern big band.

The 17-piece ensemble takes audiences on a varied journey through the big band world, with swinging grooves, a full-bodied brass section, and elegant Latin and bossa nova rhythms. As always, vocalist Odilia Damm joins the band, covering a musical range from pop to jazz.
