Moderator Elias Raatz presents the cream of the German-language poetry slam scene in Dichterwettstreit deluxe: some of the finest "language acrobats", "poetry polishers" and "humor enthusiasts" in an entertaining show.
In this modern poetry competition, creative word artists perform their own texts live with full vocal and physical commitment. Poetry slam is the rock concert of literary events: from turbulent storytelling through stand-up comedy to cabaret, from politics to social critique and emotion - everything is allowed. The audience plays a special role: randomly selected visitors judge the colourful mix of texts as a jury and determine the evening's winner.
Born in 1997, moderator, author and media scholar Elias Raatz is the regular host of Dichterwettstreit deluxe. Beyond his work on various publications, moderations and cultural projects, he regularly brings warmth, heart and passion to the stage. Even as a child he had such a broad smile on his face that he could easily have been printed on a biscuit package.
