Kinderfest-Theater: "Die Zauberglasfeen" — Festhalle Leutkirch, Leutkirch im Allgäu

This year, students of the Otl-Aicher-Realschule are performing the children's theatre play "Die Zauberglasfeen" (The Magic Glass Fairies). The piece was written and composed by Gertrud Hiemer-Haslach, with ideas contributed by Monika Brinkmeier. It is a modern fairy tale for children aged 5 and up, though adults will find it entertaining too.

The story is set in the land of the Magic Glass Fairies. There, glassblowers craft special orbs that allow a glimpse into the future. The orbs draw their power from the dye of magic flowers growing before the glass castle of fairy queen Flora, who lives there with her daughter Frieda and her fairy court. Gardeners tend the enchanted meadow to ensure a steady supply of dye for the orbs - sought after by fortune-tellers from around the world.

All would be peaceful, were it not for the queen's sister, the wicked Duchess Helma. She schemes day and night to seize power over the fairy realm. With the help of her accomplice Gisela and carefully planted misinformation among the gardeners, her plan seems to be working. The happy life in the land of the Magic Glass Fairies is suddenly in grave danger. Will Princess Frieda, together with her friends Bruni and Bene, manage to save the enchanted meadow?
