Aris Quartett: Beethoven from Early to Late

The Aris Quartett, performing in the same lineup for nearly twenty years, ranks among the world's leading chamber music ensembles. This evening focuses on Beethoven - from his early to late works.

The programme opens with String Quartet Op. 18.4, composed about 26 years before Beethoven's death. In contrast stands the Great Fugue Op. 133, which Beethoven wrote a year before his death - a work that struck his contemporaries as either "like Chinese" or simply "delighted" them. The evening concludes with Brahms' String Quartet Op. 51.2.
