Hillus Herzdropfa - "Ächde Älbler" — Festhalle Rottenburg, Rottenburg am Neckar

"Ächde Älbler" - living very close to heaven!

Hillus Herzdropfa live by the simple formula of Thaddäus Troll: "A Swabian is whoever speaks Swabian." Their Schwobaländle is not one of the federal states drawn up by politicians - it's a "cultural space", a region where people share a common culture.

That includes the famous Swabian thriftiness: Lick the salt off the pretzel so the guest doesn't get thirsty! And of course Spätzle: "Spätzle with cheese, Spätzle with cabbage, lentils with Spätzle, potato Spätzle, Spätzle with sauuuuce..." Maultaschen are a must on every Swabian menu: pan-fried, in broth, with egg... and even vegan (nothing shocks anyone anymore).

Wash it all down with a glass of cider: "Good cider cures every pain, it is the Swabian's pearl. Wine gladdens the heart of man, cider gladdens the whole fellow!"

What else makes a true Älbler, you'll find out in this show! Hillus Herzdropfa (genuine Älbler themselves) know everything about these highlanders and what else goes on up on the Alb. Speaking in dialect is a point of honour for them.

A small sample of their Alb-Swabian dialect: Zirengga? Schdriggjäggle? Aurawai? Soidawieschd?

Hillus Herzdropfa are convinced: "What more could a person want than to be a true Swabian?" This show is a loving parody of the people and landscape of Swabia. Many writers have described the Älbler: "Hard as his soil, the Älbler is tough and tight-lipped, yet not without native wit."

Hillus Herzdropfa bring their dialect onto the stage - keeping their Älbler dialect alive as the language of the heart.
