#43 Klaviersommer: Spurensuche - Ungarischer Bolero — Kloster Schöntal, Schöntal
Description was written before the event

Herbert Schuch and Gülru Ensari perform piano four-hands.

The programme centres on Brahms's Hungarian Dances, examined from several angles. For Dance No. 5, Brahms drew on a csárdás by Béla Kéler. The search for the Hungarian element in music leads further to Béla Bartók and György Kurtág. The first half holds a special feature: Kurtág's interactive language course for the audience - claimed by its creator to be the only one in the world accompanied by live piano music. Gülru Ensari will also perform as a singer.

After the interval, two works follow: Schubert's Fantasy in F minor D940 and Ravel's Bolero, condensed to 88 keys.
