Herbert Schuch and Gülru Ensari - piano

Four-hand piano: Today, the married couple Herbert Schuch and Gülru Ensari will illuminate Brahms' famous Hungarian Dances from different perspectives. Brahms drew inspiration for Dance No. 5 from, for example, Béla Kéler's Csárdás. In the search for Hungarian character in music, Béla Bartók and later György Kurtág made decisive contributions. The first half also brings surprises: Kurtág's interactive language course for the audience - the only one in the world with live piano music! Gülru Ensari will also demonstrate her qualities as a singer. After the intermission, two different milestones in music history: Schubert's beautiful Fantasy in F minor D940 and Ravel's probably most famous crescendo in music history - compressed onto 88 keys.
