Alte Bekannte - MEHR! Live

Alte Bekannte are one of the most remarkable acts on the concert circuit. The quintet performs its German-language a cappella songs with a distinctive authenticity: EVERYTHING! is produced exclusively by human voices - rhythm included, no instruments whatsoever.

Since their successful launch in 2018, Alte Bekannte have carried on a long-standing tradition as the natural successors to the disbanded Wise Guys. Two original Wise Guys singers - Daniel "Dän" Dickopf and Björn Sterzenbach - are also founding members of Alte Bekannte.

The stage is what you might call Alte Bekannte's natural habitat - a place where the musicians feel completely at home. That ease translates directly to the audience, because their concerts engage far more than just the ears. The band delivers a deeply emotional show that goes well beyond listening to music, turning every performance into a shared experience between the group and the crowd.

Since the end of the lockdown in July 2021, Alte Bekannte have played over 160 concerts. Their successful 2023 tour (motto: "Nix geht über LIVE!") continues into 2024 with the same high energy. Their sets feature a wide range of original songs - with a focus on the current fourth album "Stabil" (2023; No. 23 in the German Album Charts) - alongside a handful of beloved Wise Guys classics.

Dän Dickopf's illness is now behind him. In December 2021, the popular singer suffered a severe stroke, spent two months in hospital followed by rehabilitation, and fought his way back to the stage with remarkable determination. "The music and my colleagues gave me a great deal of support and strength," he reflects on those difficult months. Seeing Dän Dickopf back on the extensive 2024 tour with Alte Bekannte is a story worth celebrating.
