19.12.2026, 20:00, Herzogskelter: Concert "Baroque Brilliance" with the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra (WKO) and soloist Gábor Boldoczki.
Masterworks of the 17th and 18th centuries in one evening of musical refinement and virtuosity. The Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn performs together with internationally renowned trumpeter Gábor Boldoczki, presenting a programme that brings together iconic works by the great composers of the High and Late Baroque.
The concert opens with Arcangelo Corelli's Concerto Grosso in G minor, op. 6 No. 8, known as the famous "Christmas Concerto". Its delicate pastoral tones and melodic warmth embody the essence of Baroque festivity. Next comes Giuseppe Torelli's brilliant Trumpet Concerto in D major - a milestone in trumpet literature - and Alessandro Marcello's Oboe Concerto in C minor, arranged for trumpet. The spotlight turns to Antonio Vivaldi's Violin Concerto in D major "The Great Mogul", rich in virtuosic passages and dramatic contrasts. Following Pietro Locatelli's elegant Concerto Grosso in C minor, op. 1 No. 11, the concert concludes with Vivaldi's fresh Violin Concerto in C major, RV 190, and the lyrical Concerto in F major, RV 93, originally written for lute and heard here in an extraordinary arrangement for flugelhorn.
