"IM OSTEN - Geschichten aus der Sonderzone" - a witty and provocative theatre show by Triple A Theater

Triple A Theater from Potsdam brings "IM OSTEN - Geschichten aus der Sonderzone", a play by Anja Panse about Germany's division and its lasting aftermath.

Four people from East and West meet on a warm summer evening at a campsite barbecue. Thuringian sausages, Bautz'ner mustard and beer set a cheerful tone - until one remark shakes the group to its core: "You colonised us in 1990!" What follows is an emotional clash of opinions, grievances and old wounds.

The play draws on specially researched stories from eastern Germany, spanning the arc from 1989 to the present day. Alongside the humour and provocation, a live medley of East German classics is part of the programme. At its heart are questions of identity, memory and who gets to define the story of their own past.
