"IM OSTEN - Geschichten aus der Sonderzone" - a humorous and provocative theatre evening with Triple A Theater

Triple A Theater from Potsdam presents an extraordinary production that sheds new light on Germany's division and its lasting echoes: "IM OSTEN - Geschichten aus der Sonderzone" (In the East - Stories from the Special Zone), a play by Anja Panse.

In this gripping piece, four people from East and West meet on a warm summer evening at a campsite barbecue. Thuringian sausage, Bautz'ner mustard and beer set a relaxed mood - until an unexpected remark shakes the group to its core: "You colonised us in 1990!" Suddenly an emotional storm breaks out, full of opinions, grievances and old wounds.

"IM OSTEN" draws on first-hand researched stories from eastern Germany, tracing a dramatic arc from 1989 to the present day. With plenty of humour, a dash of provocation and a live medley of East German classics, the play invites audiences to rethink the post-reunification era and reclaim the right to tell their own history.
