DIY enthusiasts are a breed apart. They fix pipes while standing on them, and don't always have all their freshly painted fence posts in a row. On Saturdays they flock in droves to pilgrimage sites with strange names like Toom or OBI, buy tools they can afford but barely operate - and then head happily back to their hobby workshops.
