"Kladderadatsch" is an onomatopoetic Berlin expression denoting something that has fallen and shattered with a crash into pieces.
Kladderadatsch was also the title of a political satirical magazine that, from the beginning of the German Revolution in 1848 until 1944, was published regularly every week.
In our "Satire Saturday" series, we want to present you with texts and authors in chronological order - those who in this self-proclaimed "joke sheet" combined a love of freedom and sharp criticism of existing social conditions with unbridled humor.
