Bernd Gieseking - Ab dafür! - Satirical Year in Review 2026

For 33 years now, Bernd Gieseking has been touring with this special programme. He is a cabaret artist and writer, a gifted storyteller, but also a precise satirist and master of comedy.

Throughout the year, Gieseking takes notes, writes, records, analyzes and comments. The result is 90 minutes of political cabaret, but more than that. It's a unique blend of major politics and personal experience, with self-irony alongside found gems. Gieseking discovers what seem like trifles and transforms them into something grand and unforgettable. He writes all year round, from January to December, selecting a face of the month - sometimes in tribute, sometimes in accusation. The audience can look forward to his regular features: legendary calls with politicians ("Klingeling"), again his commentary on confusion, the great East-West-Westphalian sage, and once more Gieseking in his local pub "Fischlounge" in absurd disputes with owner Herbert and regular guest and poet Karl.

Politics, society and culture, media and press provide him with material for wordplay and comedy, for grotesque logic and playful nonsense. And once again, Gieseking is the reliable chronicler in the chaos of our times. Ab dafür!
