STERN MEISSEN singer Manuel Schmid with Marek Arnold - "Ziele" Live in Concert
Kulturhaus Torgau, Germany
27 €
A special concert evening at Kulturhaus Torgau: on Friday, 11 September 2026, from 19:30, Manuel Schmid and Marek Arnold present their show "Ziele" - an evening for music lovers of all ages, combining musical depth, thoughtful lyrics and genuine emotion.
Manuel Schmid, lead singer of STERN MEISSEN, joins forces with acclaimed musician Marek Arnold for a programme that pays tribute to the East German song tradition. Schmid has spent years championing the preservation of this musical heritage. In Torgau he interprets carefully chosen works from the 1970s, including classics such as "Albatros" (KARAT), "Das Bild" from "Sixtinischen Madonna" (ELECTRA), "Wenn der Abend kommt" (Holger Biege), "Wie ein Fischlein unterm Eis" (KARUSSELL) and "Sommernacht" (LIFT). He stays remarkably faithful to the originals while still leaving his own artistic mark.
The concert also honours the legendary AMIGA record label and the musical quality of an era when art had room to breathe. All composers, lyricists, publishers and estate managers involved have given their explicit consent to this project - a testament to the artistic respect surrounding the evening.
The programme is rounded out by Manuel Schmid's own songs, rooted in the musical and lyrical DNA of Ostrock yet reaching into the present. Alongside Marek Arnold - a fixture of the international progressive rock scene with collaborations including Steve Hackett (Genesis), Jon Anderson (Yes) and Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) - the two musicians form a coherent creative partnership. Their joint albums "Ziele" and "Zeiten" provide the backbone of this distinctive evening.
