Rische has worked with children and young people in difficult life situations for over 36 years. These experiences feed directly into his novels, poems and short stories. He also creates cultural formats that bring together literature, art and music, shining a light on Berlin's creative scenes beyond the mainstream.

"Hunde ohne Federn" brings together 26 short stories about people searching for their place in life - about love and loss, trauma, family rifts and the small moments of happiness that offer hope even in hard times. A boy discovers the power of music, a mother fights for her son, a daughter settles scores with her father, a black swan swims among the white ones.
