"Delight" Poznań Boys' Choir - a cappella from Baroque to Pop — Marienkirche, Flensburg

The Poznań Boys' Choir arrives in Germany as Poland's cultural ambassador, bringing with it the rich musical traditions of its homeland. The renowned voices from Poznań captivate audiences worldwide with their incomparable sound and repertoire. The choir has already performed in the USA, China, and many European countries.

Comprised of forty voices, the choir originates from Poland's first and only choral school. It stands out for its powerful male voices and angelic sopranos and soloists, who under the direction of maestro Jacek Sykulski create an unforgettable, distinctive sound.

The hallmark of the Poznań Boys' Choir is music composed by Sykulski himself. The conductor, composer, and arranger enjoys international recognition in the choral world and has been honored, among other awards, with Poland's Golden Cross of Merit. Under his leadership, the choir represents a modern, forward-looking interpretation of the boys' choir tradition in Europe.

The programme features an impressive range of music from classical to pop: mystical, stirring, and heartwarming a cappella works by Johann Michael Bach, John Trotta, Georg Friedrich Händel, thirteenth-century melodies, and motets by Rachmaninoff, Łukaszewski, and Sykulski. Pop melodies in unique arrangements, such as from "The Lion King" or the world-famous "Ameno," along with beloved folk songs from both Poland and Germany, provide captivating variety.
