Gala Concert - Egerländer Blasmusik Neusiedl am See: 100 Years of Ernst Mosch
MODEON-Theater, Marktoberdorf, Germany
32 €
For over three decades, Egerländer Blasmusik Neusiedl am See has stood for the finest Bohemian brass music, blending joy and virtuosity in equal measure. The internationally assembled ensemble brings together outstanding musicians from Austria, South Tyrol, and Germany. Under conductor Elmar Walter and manager Rainer Stiassny, the orchestra sets no limits on its lineup or touring activity - only the repertoire is non-negotiable: it must be Bohemian.
With the concert programme "Böhmischer Traum" (Bohemian Dream), the ensemble visits Marktoberdorf for the second time on 12 February 2027, promising an evening of musical warmth and virtuosic wind playing.
In 1994, Rainer and Thomas Stiassny founded this EU ensemble - a group of passionate musicians from Neusiedl am See dedicated to carrying Egerländer Blasmusik into the future with heart, precision, and living tradition. Performing in the original instrumentation that made Ernst Mosch and his Original Egerländer Musikanten world-famous, the ensemble today presents Bohemian brass music in its most refined form.
Musical direction rests with Upper Bavarian musician Elmar Walter, a founding member who has been with the group since its earliest days and now brings fresh energy as conductor. The distinctive vocal parts are handled by Sonja Stark alongside Michael Selig or Rainer Stiassny - a duo whose warm, heartfelt tone gives every concert its special character.
The programme features many beloved Bohemian melodies that have travelled the world as Egerländer classics, including the "Astronautenmarsch" and the waltz "Rauschende Birken". The orchestra also ventures into other styles, showing its musical range. Evergreens...
