American writer Rob Becker created CAVEMAN, the most successful solo show in Broadway history. After winning over millions of audience members in the United States, the modern caveman has gone on to conquer stages worldwide. In German-speaking countries, this cult comedy - translated by Kristian Bader and directed by Esther Schweins - delights anyone who is in a relationship, has been in one, or hopes to be. Thrown out by his wife, Tom - our likeable hero lost in the jungle of modern relationships - stumbles upon his Stone Age ancestor in the "magical underwear circle". The ancestor shares a wisdom as old as humanity itself: men are hunters, women are gatherers. A fact that human evolution has never managed to change. What the average man has always suspected, Tom now knows firsthand - and asks himself: "Why don't we simply treat women and men as completely different cultures? With different languages, different behaviours, and different origins?"

Armed with this revelation, Tom sets out to analyse the baffling universe of the gatherers: that mysterious world of best friends, shopping, and sex. With an enormous need to communicate, dry humour, and an ironic eye, he also turns his attention to the lifestyle of the hunter - revealing the deep satisfaction of "sitting around without talking", why men simply must channel-surf, and why a conversation between hunters begins and ends with the words: "Let's go to the basement and drill some holes".
