Children's Theatre from Speyer - The Dream Eater

A bedtime theatre based on a story by Michael Ende - for all sleepyheads from age 3, told by the King of Slumberland.

In Slumberland, good sleep is the most important thing. But Princess Sleepyhead cannot fall asleep - she is afraid of bad dreams. No one in the entire land knows how to help, so her father, the King, sets out alone to seek help. Just before he is about to give up, he meets the Dream Eater. What this creature is and how it can help the princess is shown in this play.

Michael Ende, author of Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver, Momo, and The Neverending Story, wrote The Dream Eater - a story about the fear of falling asleep and the power of dreams. Ende himself said about it: "What I really want to do is tell picture stories, because I believe that pictures always say much more than words. The original language of mankind is a language of images, our dreams take place in images, and in a certain sense every person, when dreaming, is a poet."
