Gaststätte Haus des Gastes, Dahn, Germany
7 €
A bedtime theatre show narrated by the King of Slumberland - for all little sleepyheads aged 3 and up, based on a story by Michael Ende.
In Slumberland, a good night's sleep is the most important thing of all. But that is exactly what Princess Schlafittchen cannot manage. She simply cannot fall asleep - because she is afraid of bad dreams. Everyone is deeply worried, yet nobody in the entire kingdom can help her. So her father, the King, sets off alone into the world to find a solution. Just when he is about to give up, he finally meets the Traumfresserchen - the Dream-Eater. What this wondrous creature is and how it can help Princess Schlafittchen, you will find out at the theatre.
Michael Ende is the author of world-famous stories such as Jim Knopf und Lukas der Lokomotivführer, Momo, and The Neverending Story. With Das Traumfresserchen he wrote a fantastic tale about the fear of falling asleep and the power of dreams - a classic fairy tale with a modern spirit.
Michael Ende himself put it this way: "What I really care about is telling stories in images, because I believe that images always say far more than concepts. The original language of human beings is a language of images; our dreams happen in images, and in a certain sense every person, when they dream, is a poet."
