Classical Concert with Saxophone and Piano

Saxophonist Stefanie Leipertz and pianist Faraz Forouzandeh present a concert programme that combines Baroque clarity, Impressionist colour and Romantic fullness of sound.

Faraz Forouzandeh (born 1993) grew up in Tehran and began learning piano at the age of eight with Arpine Israelyan. In 2015 he came to Germany and studied piano pedagogy at Hochschule für Künste Bremen under Prof. Patrick O'Byrne and Martin von der Heydt (Bachelor 2019). In parallel, he completed training in piano physiology with Laurent Boullet in Berlin. He earned his Master's degree (Music and Mediation - major in piano) at Musikhochschule Münster in the class of Prof. Clemens Rave. He is currently studying concert piano at Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen with Nata Tsvereli and receives artistic coaching from Christoph Keller. He has attended masterclasses with Pablo Galdo, Alan Fraser and László Gyimesi, among others. In 2019 he performed as a soloist with the Bremen Philharmonic under Elias Grandy. As a teacher, he has taught at music schools in Tehran, Bremen, Hamburg and Emden; he is currently a piano teacher at Musikschule des Landes Diepholz.

Stefanie Leipertz, living in Oldenburg, began playing saxophone at the age of nine. She studied classical saxophone at Konservatorium Amsterdam under Prof. Arno Bornkamp and subsequently completed a Master's degree in Cultural Management and Cultural Tourism at Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder). After her studies, she established herself in Berlin in chamber music ensembles with harp, accordion and in a saxophone quartet. She has been awarded prizes including at the German-Polish Adam-Hiller Competition, the Bundesausscheid of the German Accordion Music Prize and the Bundeswettbewerb "Jugend musiziert". As a soloist she has performed with the Landesjugendblasorchester Sachsen on a tour of China and with the Sinfonieorchester der Stadt Markneukirchen. She has completed masterclasses with Jean-Marie Londeix.
