On 5 September 2026, MDR HARZ OPEN AIR takes place in the Bürgerpark in Wernigerode. The evening is hosted by Susi Brandt (MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT HEUTE) and radio presenter Lars Wohlfarth (MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT Morgen).
The programme kicks off in the afternoon with a family segment for younger visitors and a set by Melissa Mandy & Noah-Benedikt - a German-Slovak duo presented by MDR SACHSEN-ANHALT as part of MUSIK AUS UNSEREM LAND. Fourteen-year-old Melissa Mandy from Slovakia and her partner Noah-Benedikt (20) from Wolmirstedt have been writing and producing songs together since 2024, including the singles "Wonderland Sight" and "Hola Guapa".
Three acts take the stage in the evening: The BossHoss arrive in Wernigerode with their new album "Back To The Boots" - frontmen Alec "Boss Burns" Völkel and Sascha "Hoss Power" Vollmer will be joined by classics from the band's catalogue, from "Don't Gimme That" to "Jolene". Marquess - Sascha Pierro, Christian Fleps and Dominik Decker - celebrate their 20th anniversary in 2026; known for hits like "El Temperamento" (2006) and "Vayamos Compañeros", they reached the Top 10 in 11 European countries. Closing the night are Georgi Gogow - Der Wilde Garten: Georgi "Joro" Gogow (violin virtuoso, bassist of cult band CITY and founder of NO55) performs alongside his son Nicolaj Gogow on drums, singer Karolina "Karo" Blasek and guitarist Kai-Uwe Scheffler.
The concert takes place in the Bürgerpark Wernigerode against the backdrop of Wernigerode Castle.
