MAYBEBOP - Schöner Schein

They've done it again: MAYBEBOP presents their fifth Christmas show, "Schöner Schein". And it's remarkable what these four can still draw from the most sacred of holidays and how fresh, how unspoiled it still feels on stage after more than 20 years as a band!

In "Schöner Schein", alongside new interpretations of classics like "Carol of the Bells", "Die Nacht ist vorgedrungen", and the spirited "Heidschi Bumbeidschi", many original German songs open new perspectives on the holy night. The tragicomic tango "Der Tod des Weihnachtsmannes" and the touching "Was ich besaß" approach faith in the bearded man in entirely different ways. The energetic folk-rock "Die Ballade vom Fanta-Klaus" tells of a surprising encounter with Santa himself. Pointed Christmas daydreams peek behind the facade of many yuletide idylls, and "Immergrün", sung from a Christmas tree's perspective, recommends itself as a must-have number in every standard dance class. The undisputed highlight of the album is the German rap parody "KNG of LightZ", which settles once and for all who has the hut with the highest bling-bling factor: brilliantly witty and stylistically spot-on.

The vocal band once again underscores its exceptional status: the Christmas programme "Schöner Schein" brims with ideas, is equally virtuosic and down-to-earth, and surprises live with its signature style, polished light and sound design, complemented by smart and charming video performance.
