Josef Rheinberger: 125th anniversary of his death

The 125th anniversary of composer Josef Gabriel Rheinberger's death is the thematic focus of this new programme by the two musicians. The concert presents music by this Romantic master alongside works by his teachers and selected pupils from among his nearly 600 students. The evening closes with a setting by Rheinberger's contemporary Franz Liszt - a version for baritone and organ of "Cantico del sole di San Francesco", composed in Rome in 1862.

Baritone Andreas Elias Post studied voice (diploma and master's degree) in Detmold and Dusseldorf under Prof. Gerhild Romberger, Prof. Konrad Jarnot, and KS Prof. Mario Zeffiri. Alongside opera, sacred music and song recitals are his great passion. After engagements at Kammeroper Koln, the Greek Opera Studio, and Alltagsoper Berlin - including the roles of "Figaro" and "Don Giovanni" - he appeared as a guest at Theater Bielefeld and in 2017 at the Sommeropern Festival Schloss Britz in Berlin. He is currently a member of the opera studio at Landestheater Detmold. In the 2018/19 season he performed at Theater Hagen, and in 2022 he debuted as Falke in "Die Fledermaus". In 2021/22 he sang Cascada in "Die lustige Witwe" at Landestheater Detmold; he is currently appearing in "Don Giovanni - die Stunde der Frauen" and in summer at the "Domstufen-Festspielen" in Erfurt.

Thorsten Andreas Pech, born in 1960 in Elberfeld, has worked for nearly five decades as a concert organist, conductor, choir director, and cantor. After his cantor's examination in 1980 and a concert organ diploma in 1983, he set out to explore the world.
