Musiksommer Altensteig: Chamber Orchestra and Youth Symphony Orchestra

"Serious about animals - funny about animals" is the motto of this year's summer concert by the Chamber Orchestra and Youth Symphony Orchestra (a joint ensemble of the Music School and Christophorus Gymnasium) in Altensteig. The programme revolves around animals, featuring melodies from "The Lion King" and animal-themed works by H. Mancini and G. Gershwin, among others. Of course, C. Saint-Saëns' "Carnival of the Animals" cannot be missing from such a programme. Following the successful collaboration on "WO for Children" in December 2025, Altensteig actress Birgit Heintel returns as narrator. The two-piano part is performed by students from Bettina Daszko's piano class. In keeping with the tradition of supporting young soloists, the "serious" part of the evening will feature Valentin Bühler on trumpet, performing movements from J. Haydn's Trumpet Concerto. The audience can expect a varied programme full of surprises, conducted by Jutta Hay, Renate Harr, and Wolfgang Mücke.
