In a faraway country called Estonia, four folk-music graduates founded a band in 2012 with a clear goal: to create a non-folk band using folk instruments. That plan fell apart pretty quickly! Even so, while they weave elements of pop, classical and above all bluegrass into their music, Estonian lyrics and musical traditions remain at the core. Blended with American heritage, the result is a sound that feels both familiar and fresh. Curly Strings show you what the Estonian soul sounds like - powerful, yet tender. Expect emotional journeys through Estonian seasons - at least four, probably more - across beautiful landscapes, from vast forests to intimate kitchen parties with dancing and singing.
