Unavantaluna

Pietro Cernuto (shepherd's flute, bagpipe & vocals) / Carmelo Cacciola (Cretan lute, oud & vocals) / Luca Centamore (guitar) / Francesco Salvadore (percussion, jaw harp & vocals)

The programme winds through the Mediterranean musical traditions of Sicily: tarantellas, contra dances, songs of workers, sailors and lovers, alongside traditional cunti and recitativi as well as original compositions. The distinctly Sicilian instruments friscaletto (shepherd's flute), zampogna (bagpipe), jaw harp and tambourine take centre stage, joined by the Cretan lute and oud - all in authentic arrangements.
