The Thomanerchor Leipzig has a history spanning more than 800 years. Composers from every era have written works for this celebrated choir. The motets of Johann Sebastian Bach - the most famous Thomaskantor in the choir's long history - form a cornerstone of its repertoire, alongside choral works by many other Thomaskantors. In this a cappella concert, the Thomaner present a cross-section of choral music from all periods, featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Heinrich Schütz, Johann Walter, and others.
