Trio Elisa

ELISA is Johannes Bartmes on keys and percussion/beatboxing, Matthias TC Debus on electric bass, and Elisa Herbig on cello as lead vocalist. In 2019 the newly formed trio set out on their first tour of Romania, where the three musicians grew together both musically and personally - and have been rehearsing and performing as a permanent ensemble ever since.

Each member brings their own background and individual approach to music, so when they develop arrangements together, a wide range of influences and ideas collide. Lyrical cello lines meet beatbox sounds; distorted bass frequencies brush up against jazzy Rhodes tones. Solo vocals in the verses give way to layered harmonies in the choruses. Instrumental passages move between classically-tinged cello sections and free improvisation - on bass, electric organ, or as a whistled solo. The band's sound assembles entirely new sonic landscapes that push the musical horizon outward.

In November 2021 the trio released their debut album "Outcome". Since then they have performed at cultural venues across Germany, consistently surprising and winning over a steadily growing audience.
