D'Knaschtbrüeder

At the Kulturscheune, they are simply part of the furniture: D'Knaschtbrüeder, whose annual show has long been a fixture of Wehr's cultural calendar. Two genuine sons of the Wiese valley take the stage - Jeannot, born in 1951 in Lörrach-Stetten and raised in Wieslet, and Christian, born in 1973, also from Wieslet. Both now live in Schopfheim and spend their days working as graphic designers in the former prison known as the Chäfi. Hence their name: like "reverse day-release prisoners", they leave the walls after work and pick up their guitars.

Rehearsals are rare - they play spontaneously. Alemannic dialect is their language, and that spirit runs through their songs: witty, cheeky, occasionally reflective, and always genuine.
