Orgelsommer - Meisterkonzert II - Sebastian Küchler-Blessing (organ) and Simon Höfele (trumpet) — Schlosskirche Friedrichshafen, Friedrichshafen

Simon Höfele & Sebastian Küchler-Blessing - trumpet and organ

Two outstanding musicians of their generation bring a programme rich in tonal colour, virtuosity and emotion.

Multiple award-winner Simon Höfele, praised for his "charismatic brilliance and warmth" (Luzerner Nachrichten), ranks among Europe's most prominent soloists. He appears regularly with leading orchestras including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and is equally committed to chamber music and the promotion of contemporary works.

Joining him is Sebastian Küchler-Blessing, winner of the Bach Prize at the Leipzig Bach Competition and a faculty member at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf. Once the youngest cathedral organist in Germany, he combines supreme technical command with stylistic versatility; his concert appearances have taken him to the Elbphilharmonie, the Berliner Philharmonie and the KKL Luzern.

Together they present a programme that moves between tradition and the contemporary - from Bach's celebrated Toccata and Fugue in D minor (BWV 565) and the chorale prelude "Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele" (BWV 654), through romantic and virtuosic works by Max Bruch, to a freely improvised fantasy. The evening closes with the jazzy, swinging sounds of George Gershwin.

An evening that weaves baroque depth, romantic richness and modern energy into a single, intense musical experience - a celebration of colour for trumpet and organ.
