Eight cellists of the Vienna Philharmonic - Christoph Stradner, Erik Umenhoffer, Bence Temesvári, Alexandra Ströcker, Anna Nagy, György Bognár, Maria Grün and Primož Zalaznik - perform original compositions and their own arrangements of well-known works. The ensemble was founded in 1980 and gave over 100 concerts at home and abroad during its first decade.

Eight cellos open up an unusually broad sonic landscape: from the virtuosic brilliance of the high registers through the richness of eight tenor voices to a full bass foundation. The Cinemascope-style arrangement amplifies this spatial effect further - both ears are engaged.
