Trumpeter and composer Jakob Bänsch is one of the most distinctive voices in European jazz. London Jazz News credits him with a "mesmerizing, Bach-like intensity", while New York critic Bill Milkowski compares him to a young Wynton Marsalis. His debut album "Opening" won the German Jazz Prize in 2024 as "Debütalbum des Jahres".
In 2025, "All The Others" arrived - a richly textured blend of impressionistic classical music, modern jazz, and folk, inspired by Ravel and Debussy as well as Shorter and Hancock. Bänsch grew up near Pforzheim as the son of classical musicians, progressing through the Landesjugendorchester, Landesjugendjazzorchester Baden-Württemberg, and Bundesjazzorchester. Today he performs at festivals including Leverkusener Jazztage and Jazz Baltica, has worked with Nathan East, Nils Landgren, Wolfgang Haffner, and Wolfgang Niedecken, and appeared as a soloist with the WDR Big Band.
In Neuenbürg, he presents "All The Others" with Niklas Roever (piano), Jakob Obleser (bass), and Leo Asal (drums).
