15 €
Against the backdrop of rising ultranationalism in Europe and worldwide, philosopher Jason Stanley examines the common patterns, rhetoric, themes, and myths of fascism from both historical and contemporary perspectives. Stanley is convinced that only by recognizing fascist politics can we resist its most harmful effects and return to democratic ideals.
Jason Stanley is a philosopher and holder of the Bissell-Heyd Associates Chair for American Studies at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy at the University of Toronto. He is also a Distinguished Professor at the Kyiv School of Economics. Stanley is the author of seven books, including "How Propaganda Works" and "How Fascism Works", which have been translated into 23 languages. As a member of the Justice Collaboratory at Yale Law School, he regularly writes for The Guardian, The New York Times, Project Syndicate, and other publications on authoritarianism, democracy, propaganda, and freedom of speech.
Co-organized with the Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut Tübingen. Moderated by Dr. Katharina Luther.
