GHOSTS and NATURE SPIRITS

Cornelius Lewenberg has put together this song recital especially for our theatre: 19th-century Romantic music in which nature, myth and human feeling flow into one another. From the Erlkönig through the Loreley to Geisterleben, Waldgespräche and Süßes Begräbnis, the programme features works by Schubert, Wolf, Schumann and Loewe.

Lewenberg is at home on international opera and Lied stages and has shared a long artistic friendship with Frank Matthus. Doriana Tchakarova is one of the most accomplished Lied pianists of her generation - she performs across Europe and has won, among other prizes, the Rising Stars Grand Prix.

A further star will sound beneath the trees that evening: our white grand piano from the Temnitzkirche, which - we hope - will cast its own particular spell in the summer evening light.
