LUX - Requiem à 4 | Requiem (World Premiere)
25 €
As part of the CREATIO festival series, this concert evening brings together two settings of the Requiem from different centuries: Tomás Luis de Victoria's a cappella composition (1548-1611) is placed alongside Peter Tilling's newly created Requiem for instrumental ensemble, receiving its world premiere here.
The programme bridges sacred tradition and contemporary composition. Victoria's work presents the Requiem in its most concentrated, spiritual form, while Tilling's four-movement piece carries the creative act into the present. The evening is framed by a biblical verse from Romans 13:12: "The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Let us therefore cast off the works of darkness and put on the armour of light."
