Romantic guitar music in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Between the lake district and the Baltic coast, amid sweeping landscapes and historic settlements, internationally acclaimed guitarist Stefan Grasse presents a special concert series in selected churches.

The programme centres on romantic and impressionist music for classical guitar. Alongside his own neo-classical compositions - inspired by the nature, open spaces and light of the region - works by Erik Satie and Heitor Villa-Lobos will be performed.

Satie's music captivates with its spare, meditative clarity and a quiet, timeless intensity. Villa-Lobos, by contrast, conjures vivid soundscapes - with floating harmonies, delicate rhythmic impulses and poetic expressiveness.

"Kirchen - Seen - Musik" opens up sound spaces full of atmosphere and poetry - intense, moving, and wholly devoted to the magic of the moment.
