Lesereise quer Beet 2026: Bernd Leix presents "Mörderisches Allerlei - 20 Years of Black Forest Crime"
Bärenschlößssle, Freudenstadt, Germany
10 €
On Wednesday, 5 August, Bernd Leix - a native of Klosterreichenbach, former forest ranger and celebrated crime fiction author - comes to the idyllic "Bärenschlössle" in Christophstal. At 19:00 he will deliver an exclusive "Best of" spanning 20 years of Black Forest crime stories. There will be plenty of murders and cover-ups between the Mummelsee and Hornisgrinde. His well-matched detective duo Marie Schwarz and Gottfried Wald have been keeping busy for years, tracking down villains across the region.
About the author: Bernd Leix studied forestry and worked for several years as a district ranger in the Karlsruher Hardtwald. Even there he encountered almost every kind of criminal activity. He turned to writing crime novels because he wanted to combine suspense with realistic, everyday stories - and he is particularly drawn to how seemingly ordinary people end up in extraordinary or criminal situations. He also draws on his close ties to his home region (he lives in Freudenstadt) to give his stories an authentic feel. Germany's undoubtedly most "criminal" forester continues to captivate readers with every new book.
