Abwesenheitsnotizen. Lieder & Geschichten — Professorenhaus, Lingen

Being constantly available is a thing of the past. Lennart Schilgen returns with his third programme - and shines through his absence. When he's not giving concerts and collecting awards in the field of cabaret (Prix Pantheon, Stuttgarter Besen, and many others), he does one thing above all: he disappears.

Among other things, he goes on cycling tours, visits monasteries, and attends communist summer camps. Or simply immerses himself in the depths of his thoughts, which is often adventurous enough.

In this way, songs about detours and the twists and turns of the world and one's own mind have emerged. Full of lightness and wit, but unafraid to explore dark corners. This time, things that have been swept under the carpet for years come to light: an old PUR cassette. Primary school report cards. The story of the night bus stop. Fortunately, Schilgen safely guides listeners through every abyss - carried by his skilled piano and guitar playing, his voice, and his "alert spirit, with heart and humour and insidious wit" (citation for "Tuttlinger Krähe").

And if all else fails, there are always the poems: little linguistic treasure boxes, deeply absurd, supremely artistic. The recently published "Collected Works" are, if we may say so, already something like a bestseller in the realm of poetry collections.

Still have questions? Feel free to email him anytime. He just won't reply. So: best to simply come straight to the concert.
