Alexander Huber - Professional Mountaineer — Tagungszentrum Blaubeuren, Blaubeuren

Alpinism has transformed how we perceive mountains. Once regarded as hostile and threatening, mountains are now seen as places of self-discovery and reflection, where one can find time to breathe. Over forty years ago, Reinhard Karl published "Erlebnis Berg: Zeit zum Atmen" (Mountain Experience: Time to Breathe), which inspired Alexander and many of his generation to seek adventure in the world of mountains.

Alexander showcases his most beautiful moments from the mountains alongside current highlights from this fascinating and diverse world. Stunning photographs, complemented by captivating film sequences and dramatic music, create an experience of a special kind. Extreme climbing challenges at the eleventh grade of difficulty on Alpine walls, the enchanting island of Sardinia as a climber's paradise, and the thin air at altitudes over 6,000 meters in the Karakorum reveal the world of mountains in their finest light.

Born in 1968, Alexander Huber is a state-certified mountain guide. In 1998, he chose to leave his scientific career as a physicist and pursue an unknown path into the world of mountains. Mountaineering in all its forms across the globe is his passion. Through determination and willpower, he has fulfilled countless dreams: climbing at the eleventh grade, establishing first routes at the eleventh grade on Alpine walls, free climbing and speed records on Yosemite's Bigwalls, the first ascent of the famous Eternal Flame on Nameless Tower, the first ascent of the west face of the 7,000-meter peak Latok II, and many other achievements.
