Musical comedy and pianism
"Only a funny song is a good song"
The pop musician, pianist and co-founder of A-cappella comedy legend "FÜENF" (performing under the alias "Justice") now strikes out on a solo path that means the world to him.
Accompanying himself on piano, he performs brand-new songs about tradesmen, houseplants, funeral speeches and spinning machines, alternating with Füenf hits like "Umdrehn brinx nix" and "Bring mir die Sonne", plus audience favourites that haven't been heard in far too long. Everything is from his own pen, freshly arranged. An evening of low-brow jokes with unexpected depth and outrageous comedy-pop. Gentle singing and absurd piano escapades pitted against the saddest truths. Lateral thinking is the new crowd-pleaser here.
Biography
Christian Langer is a singer-songwriter, pianist, entertainer and coach. At 18 he founded the well-regarded jazz-pop formation "Supper's Ready", which he has repeatedly taken apart and reassembled ever since. He studied jazz vocals and composition at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern, and in 1995 formed the a-cappella pop-comedy group Füenf together with four other singers - a group with which he has now performed nearly 2,500 times across Germany.
He has released a total of 24 albums - with his band, as a soloist and with Füenf - and composes, arranges and writes lyrics for himself and other musicians, while also working as a band coach, host and workshop leader.
Musically, Christian Langer moves between two worlds: he has written countless German-language comedy songs - alone and together with his close friend and former colleague Ralph "Laszlo" Digel - for both Füenf and himself. In his role as a comedic entertainer, he captivates audiences with his distinctive voice, musical range and singular sense of humour.
