Kikeriki Theater - Siegfrieds Nibelungenentzündung

"Siegfrieds Nibelungenentzündung" is a medieval fool's spectacle about the life and death of the fair-haired hero Siegfried of Xanten. The source material is the Nibelungenlied - a heroic epic compiled around 1200 AD from various legends, padded out with half-truths and "Teutonic" wishful thinking.

The puppets are shamelessly cobbled together from old kitchen utensils, tin cans, bicycle parts, and assorted junk. Carried on long poles like halberds, they ironically underline the supposedly heroic content of the saga.
