"Siegfrieds Nibelungenentzündung" by Kikeriki Theater is a medieval jester's spectacle about the life and death of the fair-haired hero Siegfried of Xanten. The show draws on the Nibelungenlied - a heroic epic compiled around 1200 AD from various legends, padded out with half-truths and "Teutonic" wishful thinking.

The puppets are shamelessly cobbled together from old kitchen utensils, tin cans, bicycle parts, and assorted junk. Wielded on long poles like halberds, they offer their own wry commentary on the saga's would-be heroic content.
